Whitaker - Elva Augusta

Waynetown - Elva Augusta Whitaker, 80, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rockville Sanitorium. She had been ill with pulmonary tuberculosis for three weeks.

She was born January 18873 in Fountain County the daughter of Alonzo and Elmira Livengood Ingersol. She was married to William A. Whitaker on Nov 25, 1898.  

Mrs. Whitaker lived in Fountain and Montgomery Counties her entire life. She was a member of the Union Chapel UB Church and Modern Woodmen.  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Ted) Gentry of Cincinnati and Mrs. Roy Davis of Terre Haute; four grandchildren; Ted Gentry of Cincinnati; Bill Gentry of Milan; KT Davis and Mary Jane Davis both of Terre Haute; two brothers, Leo Ingersol of Waynetown and Edwin Ingersol of Terrance Calif; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating.  Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home. It is requested flowers be omitted. - kbz
